Afterwords was founded in Kelowna, BC by Heather Burley after losing her son at age 20. She built it because no good place existed for the stories, photos, and memories that friends and family carry — and she didn't want those memories to disappear.

Kelowna and the Okanagan are close-knit communities. When someone is lost here, the people who loved them come from across the valley, across BC, and across the country. Afterwords gives every one of them a place to contribute what they remember — whether they make it to the service or not.
